One of the most common things I find with new hypnotists is that they have not thought beyond the induction. It is the ‘holy grail’ to “drop someone”. I know… I was there once. It leads to the inevitable question, “What’s the best induction?” The answer is, of course, the one that works.
I cannot tell you how many young hypnotists tell me, “I have done one induction after another, with all kinds of people, and when I say sleep the subject’s head drops and comes right back up.” Now, here is the sneaky little secret that accounts for this phenomenon. Intent!
That’s right, the only two things that need be present for hypnosis to occur are context and intent. If these two are in place, hypnosis will occur. However, this does not mean you are going to get the ‘hypnosis performance’ that you were hoping for. That will only occur when your intent goes beyond the induction. By that I mean, if you go at the session / hypnotic event with the intent to ‘put someone into hypnosis’, then when the head goes down you have succeeded and the event is over.
This is where most new hypnotists go off the rails. Fortunately, it is a simple matter to get back on the rails and stay there. Before you begin, set your intent beyond the induction. Don’t stop with I am going to get hypnosis. Set your intent for ‘I am going to use hypnosis to stick this person’s hand to the table, make them forget their name, and give them a hallucination of being unable to see me.’ This uses the thing known as presupposition to establish an intent worth having. Your intent may even be as vague as ‘I am going to do a whole bunch of phenomena using hypnosis with this person.’ Far less specific, but still good enough that it’s not over when the eyes close and the head goes down.
This simple change will make all the difference in the world. So now follow my number two rule for hypnosis; PLAY!
Maybe next time I will tell you how to instantly establish context and what my number one rule is.
Until then…

Jeffrey I had been following and reading all your instruction, by the way I m based in South Africa, I m working as a Coastal Manager for a Security company manning the airport.
But Im interest is in hypnosis and not working, I went through alot of stressful moments in my life, lost all my family members and remained alone.
I ve liked hypnosis since I was at secondary school, I feel it can help me to over come my past (healing) Jeff, I have been reading your instructions tried to follow all what is needed to induct a person, it just couldnt work for me. Tell me, is it true to say “you are under my control sleep” and a person sleeps and not a pre-planned thing. I tried it with my girl friend I looked stupid in front of her, then I tried it with my friend just couldnt work.
I want to see it live with my own bear eyes to learn live than reading notes, please visit south africa we needed you.
regards
Moses
Moses, I am not sure where you got “you are under my control sleep” from. I don’t teach it and it won’t work under any circumstance I can conceive of. You will not be able to learn how to do hypnosis from just these blog posts. You will need to get some good instruction… some COMPLETE instruction. If you are interested in good instruction I can recommend someone in South Africa to you. His name is Leo Gopal and he will probably be in touch with you. Hope this helps.
Hi Jeff
Since Intent is everything and the place most people have weakness, Can we use your golden box to programm people to get powerful intent and to be able to “communicate” it? If yes, how specifically?
First of all, yes you can use hypnosis to install the intent… once you genuinely understand intent. Intent is belief and behavior based. These are the very things that hypnosis is perfect for. As to the ‘how specifically’, I really don’t want to write out a script for it. If you have my course, you will find in the manual the steps/concepts of the GB process and should be able to adapt it with little trouble.
Again, it is a matter of knowing what intent is with relation to belief and behavior, and then applying that information to the GB concepts. If you find that you are having trouble doing that, please feel free to drop an email to wlmh_info@wlmhypnosis.com and I will do my very best to help you.
